. Marion initially trained as a hairstylist in Ireland before moving to London.
Marion moved to the Cotswold's and opened a small very successful Montessori school having trained in this field also when she had her first child and decided to hang up her scissors. As an extra service and a astute business decision Marion was soon cutting the children attending her school and very soon after local children in surrounding areas too . On selling the property to move to the Midlands Marion took up hairdressing full time again and opened her own hair salon with her experience of the demand for children’s haircuts she decided to dedicate the salon to this market which subsequently became the first of 3 children's hair salon she opened, allowing her to combine her passion for hairdressing and children. Marion noticed a trend for the specialized salons growing ,she also noticed that often these salons would soon after opening start to include a service for adult hairdressing. Her conclusion was that the salon’s were not getting enough productivity on the children’s hair cutting so needed to increase profit. In her opinion this negated the children's specialist tag and just made these salons’s no different to generic salon’s.
As she had honed her own cutting techniques and could maximise productivity in her own salon’s Marion decided develop a hair cutting module . The training techniques are based on the management of the child in salon using her Montessori teaching as a base for engaging the children and making it a stress free experience for all involved, resulting in a quick, professional and relaxed hair cut .With this in mind and. Taking into account the financial climate she has now set about setting up very succesfully, mini version's of children's hair salon‘s in other child orientated businesses in the midlands such as Toys shops , school groups and children's destination . One of her clients now has a salon within the Mothercare brand in Leeds This also proved successful and so proved the model, with increase in footfall for the existing business plus a welcome non invasive extra revenue stream.
With her profile growing.
